Sharing my Summer skincare routine for you babes on the blog today!

It’s the dog days of Summer and the weather is hot hot hot and the sun is fierce.I’m not complaining, the Vata (my ayervedic dosa) in me loves the heat and I love the slower pace of summer.

Do you change up your skin care routine is the summer? I do! It becomes much more minimal and because I’m in and out of the ocean several times most days, I barely wear any makeup or bother with all my lotions.

My skin care routine starts in the kitchen with healthy, vibrant food that is high in fat, vitamins, and minerals. I also take my hydration very seriously as I also really up my cardio and are sweating a ton! I have some simple tips for you on how to take care of your skin from the inside out and I’ll also share some products I’m loving right now:)

SUMMER SKINCARE

  1. Support your body’s natural detoxifying system: the liver and kidneys, by including lots of fruits and veggies, healthy fats like avocado and coconut, superfoods like chlorella and by drinking a lot of filtered water. The stuff you put in your body really matters! You skin will be nourished and balanced with the help of a healthy whole food diet:)
  2. Collagen. I noticed a big improvement in my skin’s elasticity and appearance after a few months of consuming bone broth and collagen. These amino acid rich foods help our skin, hair and nails. But don’t expect it to happen overnight. Stay consistent with them for a few months to see the positive changes:)
  3. Use a gentle cleanser at night and rinse with cold cold water in the morning. I’ve also been using a cold jade roller in the am to help reduce puffiness and tighten the look of try skin. It also feels heavenly on these hot summer days. Use the jade roller after you apply your serum and before you apply your daydream.
  4. Natural products. I’ve slowly switched over all my skincare products over to minimal ingredient, natural, cruelty free products that will have less impact on the planet and aren’t as toxic for my health. I love using coconut oil, sandalwood oil, frankincense, and my probiotic Nayelle products.   5. Sleep. Sleep is when our skin heals and comes back into balance so don’t skimp on the shut eye. 

My skin care routine is focused on holistic wellness and not just what I put on my face. I believe in a beauty wellness routine that is a body, mind, and spirit approach. In my opinion, the only way to maintain real beauty is from the inside out.
